West Carroll boys advance

— BYRON, Ill. — The West Carroll Thunder rolled to a 70-51 win over Aurora Christian to advance to a sectional championship match-up with Winnebago on Saturday.
The Thunder led 19-12 after one quarter, 35-27 at the half and 54-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
West Carroll senior Chris Anderson continued to shine as he poured in 25 points to lead the way. Nick Lucas and Drew Gallentine provided double figure scoring support with 16 and 13 points respectively.
The Thunder will now face Winnebago, who edged out Byron on Wednesday with a 48-45 overtime victory.
The teams will meet on Saturday at Byron with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
