Five River Kings earn MAC honors

— CLINTON — Five Clinton River Kings were honored as the Mississippi Athletic Conference announced its all-conference selections for the 2007-08 season.
Junior center Matt Murphy was named to the third team, while seniors Kyle Matheny, Jace Dehner and Michael Voss and sophomore David Johnson received honorable mention.
Murphy was tabbed for the third team after receiving honorable mention honors a year ago.
Davenport Central’s E.J. Hicks repeated as the MAC player of the year after leading the Blue Devils to the conference title and a state tournament runner-up finish.
Joining Hicks on the elite squad were his teammates LA Pomlee and Hal Bateman as well as Bettendorf’s Troy Rorer, Pleasant Valley’s John Lindstrom and Davenport West’s Lavione West.
Central’s Craig Wurdinger was named coach of the year.
