Saber freshmen named first team all-conference
CLINTON — Central DeWitt teammates Lindsay Smith and Michelle Green were selected to the WaMac Conference’s East Division girls basketball first team as they led the Sabers to a 16-5 season mark.
Central freshman Jennifer Keitel and Maquoketa sophomore Hailey Bickford earned second team honors.
Smith led the Sabers with 14.3 points and 2.3 steals per game as well as 32 3-pointers. The Central freshman was a unanimous selection.
Green, a senior, led the Sabers with 3.4 assists per game from her point guard spot. She also contributed 6.0 points per game.
Bickford led the Cardinals as a sophomore in scoring with 8.8 points per game and was second on the team with 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Keitel, a freshman, averaged 9.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for Central.
