GET OUT this weekend for all these Halloween-themed events

Scare on the Square [today]

The seventh annual Scare on the Square is 5-8 p.m. on the Square in downtown Enid. Events include trick-or-treating, a Halloween Queen contest, zombie parade, scarecrow contest and an appearance by Count Gregore. Free for the entire family.



Halloween carnival [today]

The National Guard Armory, 600 E. Elm, is holding its annual indoor Halloween carnival tonight 5:30-9 p.m. Activities include a costume contest, dunk tank, cakewalk, fish pond and pumpkin pool. Other carnival games and concessions will be available. Cost of tickets is 25 cents each or five for $1. All proceeds will be donated to the HHB 45th Fires Brigade Family Readiness Group to support soldiers and their families.



Waukomis haunted house [today and Saturday]

Haunted house to benefit Waukomis After Prom is 10:30 p.m. to midnight Friday and 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday in the old middle school building on Main Street in Waukomis. Cost is $5.



Halloween Haunted Hay Maze [today and Saturday]

Halloween Haunted Hay Maze is 7:30-11 p.m. today and 7:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday in Fairview. It is sponsored by Fairview FFA and 4-H Boosters. Admission for ages 8 and younger is $5 and ages 9 and older is $6. Go to the intersection of Oklahoma 60 and Oklahoma 8 in Fairview, to north stop light, three miles east and then 1.5 miles south.



Nightmare Warehouse Haunted House [today and Saturday]

Nightmare Warehouse Haunted House with over 6,000 feet of terror. Open 7 to 11 p.m. today and Saturday at 424 W. Walnut. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for 12 and younger. Portion of proceeds benefit EHS chorus.



Enid Farmers Market PumpkinFest [Saturday]

Enid Farmers Market will close this weekend with a PumpkinFest event sponsored by StarTek. The market is open 8-11 a.m. and will have trick-or-treating for the kids. PumpkinFest will feature cash prizes for the biggest pumpkin, the best-dressed pumpkin and a carving contest. All entries must be in by 9 a.m. and announcements of winners will be 10 a.m.



Festival of Light [Saturday]

Oakwood Christian Church will hold its annual safe alternative to door-to-door trick or treating at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the church’s activity center, 401 N. Oakwood. More than 3,000 pounds of candy, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, door prizes and outdoor hayride. Free admission.



Fall festival [Saturday]

Willow View United Methodist Church, 3525 W. Purdue, will hold its annual fall festival 6-8 p.m. The event features games, food, door prizes and candy.



Family Fun Night [Saturday]

United Church of Lahoma, 3rd and Maine, will hold its Family Fun Night 6:30-8 p.m. The event features candy, games and a carnival-type atmosphere.



Trick-or-treating [Saturday]

New Hope United Methodist Church will host safe trick-or-treating 6-8 p.m. at the church, 614 N. Garland.



Trunk-a-thon [Saturday]

Calvary Baptist Church, 9th and Broadway, will hold a trunk-or-treat event 5-7:15 p.m. at the church. Along with lots of treats and candy, the event offers free Frito chili pie, a cakewalk and bingo. Free to the public.



Mall-o-Ween [Saturday]

Oakwood Mall will offer safe trick or treating for children 6-9 p.m. Complimentary treats, candy bag and coloring books.



Trick or Treat in the Pumpkin Patch [Saturday]

There will be plenty of candy for the little ones at Pumpkin Patch at Christ United Methodist Church, Randolph and Cleveland. Trick-or-treating is 5:30-7:30 p.m. with lots of candy stations.



Chisholm carnival [Saturday]

Chisholm carnival is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school gym and a haunted house will be held at the middle school gym 7-9 p.m. Ticket prices for the carnival vary and price for the haunted house is $5. Proceeds benefit Chisholm music students.



Halloween Ball [Saturday]

Halloween Ball is 3-9 p.m. Saturday at Cherokee Strip Conference Center. The event will feature the premiere of B.C .Pro, Inc.’s third motion picture, “Dark Mister.” Tickets are available online at www.burningclownproductions.com for $10 or at the door for $15. Call 747-1696.



Gaslight Theatre [today and Saturday]

Get ready for an evening of spine-tingling chills as Gaslight presents the classic ghost story “The Turn of the Screw” this weekend and next. Performances are 8 tonight and 10 p.m. Halloween night. The play tells the tale of a young governess hired to care for two orphans at a lonely country estate plagued by supernatural visitors. Only the governess can see the ghosts; only she suspects two former servants are controlling the children for some diabolical purpose.



Enid Symphony: A Celtic Halloween [Saturday and Sunday]

Visions of ghosts and goblins may be in the air when Enid Symphony Orchestra presents a Celtic Halloween at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Enid Symphony Hall. “They were talking about writing a Halloween program when they were here last year, and I told them we would hire them if they did,” said Doug Newell, symphony director. Newell calls the program “Irish music with a spooky twist.” The music includes jigs and reels and music from “Lord of the Rings.”
