The funeral for Marion Leon McKee will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Leon was born July 18, 1923, near Southard, OK, to Pearl and Alma Loewen McKee and died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.
He graduated from Southard High School, and then worked for US Gypsum Co. In June 1943, he was inducted into the United States Army, medical department, and served in New Guinea, Australia and Philippine Islands. He received his honorable discharge from the Army in January 1946.
On April 26, 1946, he married Beulah Jackson. They lived in Southard until 1957, when they moved to Enid, OK. He worked at Champlin Refinery until it closed in 1983. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and a life member of the VFW and American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Beulah of 62 years; twin sons, Dr. Larry McKee and wife, Vicki of Yukon, OK, and Dr. Garry McKee and wife, Laura of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren, Lance McKee and wife, Tracy of Minco, OK, Lisa Williams and husband, David of Claremore, OK, Spc. Mitchell McKee and wife, Holly of Fort Wainwright, AK, David McKee of Oklahoma City, OK, Randy McKee and wife, Lupita of Oklahoma City, OK, and Bryan McKee and wife, Rhonda of Noble, OK; 10 great-grandchildren, Logan and Lane McKee of Minco, OK, Cole, Coby, Kayla, and Kinley Williams of Claremore, OK, Justin McKee of Oklahoma City, OK, and Zachary McKee of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Elinor McKee of Rockledge, FL; and two nieces, Dianne Rhodes of Melbourne, FL, and Helen Duncan of Melbourne, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Alma McKee.
Memorials may be made to Golden Oaks Chapel with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
