Man arraigned on 2 felony counts

By Cass Rains, Staff Writer

A 35-year-old Enid man was arraigned Thursday on two felony counts of feloniously pointing a firearm.

Mark Daniel Dillman appeared via video from Garfield County Detention Facility before Special District Judge Paul Woodward.

Dillman, who faces one to 10 years in prison on each count, is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond and a condition of his bond was to remain away from his two alleged victims.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Enid police responded to a weapons report about 11:47 p.m. Tuesday and spoke with a couple who live with Dillman and said Dillman had pointed a gun at them after they had argued.

The couple said they were leaving with their 3-year-old son when Dillman went inside his home, at 5829 Will Rogers, and returned with a gun. The woman told police once she got her son into the car she turned to see Dillman holding the gun to her boyfriend’s head, according to the affidavit. The man told police when Dillman pointed the gun at him Dillman said he was going to kill his girlfriend and then himself.

The man told police as his girlfriend drove away, Dillman pointed the gun at her car, according to the affidavit.

The man said he told his sister, who also lives at the residence, to get her kids and leave with him. She told police she knew Dillman and the couple had argued but was not paying much attention. She said she went outside and saw Dillman pointing a gun at her brother’s head, according to the affidavit. She said Dillman walked back toward her, unloaded the gun and gave her the ammunition. She said she threw the ammunition into the bushes and then left with her brother and her children.

According to the affidavit, the SWAT team was called to Dillman’s residence. The team surrounded the home and after several hours police contacted Dillman and he offered to give himself up. Dillman left the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Police found a .357 magnum revolver beneath a bed in the home, where Dillman had told officers he left it.

Dillman was ordered to return to court Dec. 14 for a bond appearance.
