The funeral for Barbara Lee Unruh, 80, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Enid, will be 1 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2009, at Second Presbyter-ian Chur-ch, Kansas City. Bur-ial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City. Arrangements are by Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home, Enid.
She was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Enid and died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at her home.
She graduated from Enid High School and attended Oklahoma State University. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from Phillips University.
She married Leroy Goertzen Jan. 22, 1950. They lived in Wichita, Kan., St. Louis and Elizabeth-town, Penn. He died in 1967.
She returned to Enid in 1967. She married Gary Unruh.
They owned Gary Unruh Gallery of Homes.
She served as president of the Enid Board of Realtors, was an elder and deacon at Christian Church of the Covenant, vice-chairman of Garfield County Republican Party and board member of Enid Phillips Symphony. She volunteered for Enid Public Schools, tutoring foreign language students.
They moved to Overland Park, Kan., after closing their real estate business in 1987.
She worked as a real estate agent for J.D. Reece. She lived in Kansas City for 22 years.
Surviving are one son, Mark Goertzen of Turlock, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Lee Hughes of New Orleans and Jenny Unruh Erdman of Kansas City; one brother, Robert Killam of Tulsa; and five grandchildren.
In addition to both husbands, Leroy and Gary, she was preceded in death by one sister.
