Program on Civil War veteran at fairgrounds museum Nov. 22

MAQUOKETA — The last in a series of Civil War-related programs will be presented by Marion “Junior” Miller of Bellevue at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Jackson County Historical Museum at the fairgrounds in Maquoketa.

A retired teacher and school administrator, Miller served for 25 years in the East Central, Clinton and Bellevue public schools.

Miller will present a program on Civil War veteran Winfield Kellogg of Miles. Miller also presented an abbreviated program on the same subject at Pioneer Day in September.

Kellogg family artifacts also will be on display during Miller’s presentation.

The Jackson County Historical Society will serve refreshments following the program, which is free to the public.
