Film critic to share insight

---- — FULTON, Ill. — A professional film critic will be the featured speaker at a program this week in Fulton.

Linda Cook will discuss the subjective art of critiquing film and her love of movies at this week’s Wild Winter Wednesday program at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Windmill Cultural Center.

Cook is a crime and general-assignment reporter and professional film critic for the Quad-City Times, where she has been employed since 1985. In addition, she is a weekly guest on “Paula Sands Live!” and a regular guest on WVIK-FM. She is a featured critic on Rottentomatoes.com through her membership in the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

She sees about 400 movies annually, and sees every movie that opens in the Quad-Cities.

Cook has taught college classes for many years, and served as both instructor and program chairwoman for Kaplan University’s criminal justice program.

The Wild Winter Wednesday programs are free to attend and open to the public. Light refreshments are served at 9 a.m. with the program following.
