---- — SAVANNA. Ill. — The Palisades Art League will host its annual fall art show and sale from 3 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 and noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the West Carroll Primary School cafeteria. The school is located on Wacker Road in Savanna.
All artists, whether amateur or advanced in experience, may enter the competition but participants are advised that artwork will be divided according to the mediums of painting, mixed media drawing, dimensional works, photography and computer generated art at both the amateur and advanced levels and final media grouping will be subject to the discretion of the judges.
All artwork must be original, never previously entered in a PAL show and be properly framed with wire hangers not modern back-bar hangers. Nude art is not acceptable and the PAL also reserves the right to accept, reject or reclassify any entry.
Entries must be delivered to the West Carroll Primary School from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 or 8 to 9 a.m. Oct. 20. No entries will be accepted after that time. Preregistration is appreciated.
The Judges’ Critique will start at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 19. This year both judges will give their critique at the same time, giving suggestions and helpful advice to those interested. All artists and photographers entered are welcome to attend.
Monetary prizes will be given for the amateur and advanced winners in Best of Show selections in both Photography and Fine Art categories with ribbons being awarded to other competitors for excellent work.
Door prizes, donated by area community businesses, will be given away throughout the show. New this year will be a silent auction on baskets of goodies.
PAL members will choose one of their own to receive the PAL Peer Award.
Another highlight of the event is the progressive painting, “Heaven’s Splendor,” painted by several PAL members. The painting will be awarded to a person in attendance during the awards presentation starting at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
