On Saturday, almuni are invited to attend an open house and tour of CHS at 10 a.m. Reservations can be directed to Petersen at 249-5861.
The all-class reunion will take place on Sunday, Sept. 1, with a lunch at Vista Grande from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 and each person will receive a button at the event. The deadline to reserve a spot at the reunion is this Saturday. Reservations can be sent to All Class Reunion, Box 2002, Clinton, IA 52733.
“I think it will be a good event,” said Petersen, who is a 1953 graduate.
So far, Petersen said there is plenty of room left for reservations as the facility can hold up to 600 people. Of the reservations she has received so far, it is a 50/50 split between in-town CHS graduates and out-of-town ones.
Reservations have come in from as far as California, Washington and North Carolina.
Petersen would like the all-class reunion to become an annual tradition that takes place when each new class is inducted into the CHS Hall of Fame. While many classes get together every five years, the all-class reunion creates a time when people who might not have received diplomas together can trade stories and revel in nostalgia over their days as CHS students.
