Trees Forever nabs $10,000 ADM grant

Clinton Herald Staff

CLINTON — Archer Daniels Midland announced Wednesday that Clinton Trees Forever has received a $10,000 grant from the ADM Community Grants Partnership Program.

The Clinton grant is just one of four distributed nationwide. The other recipients are the Arkansas City Area Arts Council, Marshall-Putnam 4-H & Extension Program and Midland Lutheran College.

“We’re proud to support these four outstanding community organizations,” stated Brian Peterson, Senior Vice President-Corporate Affairs. “We encourage agricultural communities to continue searching for new initiatives that improve where we work and live.”

According to a press release, Clinton Trees Forever will use the funds to plant 100 trees along a two-mile stretch of Mill Creek Parkway to conserve and protect soil, water and wildlife.

Farm broadcaster Orion Samuelson, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture John Block and Al Pell from AgDay television served as ADM’s distinguished panel of judges and carefully reviewed the pool of applicants.

There is a formal check presentation scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Lyons Business and Technology Park.

Each year the ADM Community Partnership Grant program awards up to four $10,000 grants to qualified, tax-exempt, non-profit educational or community organizations in ADM hometowns. Designed to strengthen agricultural areas of the United States, the Community Partnership Grant program funds community improvement projects that are identified by local community members and ADM employees.

Clinton Trees Forever was founded in 1989.
