Clinton High grad to perform

MAQUOKETA — Clinton High School graduate Brooke Byam will return Saturday to the Ohnward Fine Arts Center in Maquoketa.

Byam will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday. The show will feature Byam’s band, as well as comedy, skits and other performers. Even her grandfather, Guiness World Record Holder Glen “Red” Henton, will perform.

Living in Nashville, Tenn., Byam has been pursuing her singing career since 2005. She signed with the Twang Thang Music label in August and is working on a new single, “Thank You for Leaving,” which will be available Saturday. The song will be released on the radio in October.

The show also will feature Camanche High School graduate JaCi Leigh Waldorf. She was Miss Clinton County runner-up in 2009 and Miss Clinton County in 2010 where she received the Talent award both years. Waldorf has performed at the Nashville Palace.

Dustin Weiss moved to Nashville five years ago to pursue his music and film career. He opened for Kenny Chesney at WE Fest, starred in a television commercial for the Armed Forces Network and also a military commercial for the U.S. Army and is also in the feature film “The Identical” with Seth Green, Ashley Judd and Ray Liota. He will also appear Saturday.
