CAMANCHE— Camanche High School’s homecoming events and the community’s fall festival will merge next week, offering something for everyone to attend.
Kelly Everhart, high school student council representative and Party in the Park committee member, loves the Camanche community and wants everyone to know how wonderful it is. She and her sister, Karlee Low, have been planning the fall festival and the homecoming event since May.
Low said they have worked hard to “jazz up” homecoming. Low said the committee was planning to have the fall festival later in October, when one member suggested they should combine it with homecoming.
“Make it an exciting event, rather than just the parade,” Everhart said.
Low and Everhart hope to get the city parks used more. Low said the group wants to raise money for new holiday lights for the new Washington Boulevard.
“The town is very pleased with the new Washington Boulevard and our sidewalks. Now we want to dress it up,” Low said.
The homecoming parade will start at 6 p.m. Monday, with a “party in the park” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the city park. The high school horn group, Horn Dogs, will perform. Zumba, food, jump houses and other activities will be available.
“Just all kinds of food and music and fun,” Everhart said.
