7G Distributing set to acquire Davenport company

CLINTON — Ron Kirchhoff of 7G Distributing LLC announced Monday that an agreement has been reached to acquire Vanguard Distributing of Davenport pending final approval of their respective suppliers.

7G Distributing LLC, is an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler based out of Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. 7G Distributing LLC will officially acquire all assets and distribution rights of Vanguard Distributing effective Jan. 1, 2014

7G Distributing LLC was formed in 2010 by the joint merger of Cedar Rapids-based Dale Lee Distributing and Dubuque-based Kirchhoff Distributing. They are wholesalers of Anheuser-Busch products along with Crown Imports, Monster Energy and more than 14 additional beverage suppliers. 7G Distributing presently services 16 counties in Eastern Iowa, with sales of more than 4 million cases annually. With the addition of the newly acquired distribution rights, 7G will distribute approximately 6 million cases in Eastern Iowa and employ more than 200.

Vanguard Distributing is owned by Bill Wallace of Davenport. That company currently represents Anheuser-Busch, Crown Imports, Monster and several other craft beers.

The proposed acquisition is effective Jan. 1.
