Rotary auction slated

(Continued)

Early on, Rotary received a Clinton County Development Association grant to help fund the playground projects. However, its biggest fundraiser is the annual Rotary auction.

The sixth annual Rotary Auction will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Rastrelli’s Tuscany Events Center, 238 Main Ave. Tickets cost $50 per person.

Determann expects a good turn out to the auction this year. Typically the event sees more than 300 people and collects close to $20,000.

“We’ve got great support from members and the community,” Determann said. “They all see the need.”

The event will feature a variety of auction items, including several trips. Those attending also will get to sample food from across the world.

Once the Rainbow Playground project is complete, Determann said the club is looking to going back to the existing playgrounds and making them handicap accessible.

“I think we have plenty to do for a number of years,” Determann said.
