Strike up the Band: Municipal Band starts 24th season


Participation is down a little from last year and Whipple and Adair are looking for more performers. Anyone interested may call the Erickson Center at 243-1260. The group meets there from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. A person does not need to be at the professional level to join. Whipple added the music is not that difficult.

“It’s mainly just for the enjoyment of playing,” Adair said.

Bluff Elementary Music Teacher Nica Cooper joined the RCMB this season. She has played flute for 13 years. Logan, who is a co-worker, asked her if she wanted to join and she thought it would be good to be in a band again. She has enjoyed the rehearsals so f

The group is also holding a fundraiser Monday at Pizza Ranch,1347 11th Ave. North. Whipple said these fundraisers and a few grants are what keeps the RCMB running.
