Whiteside County suspends certain road operations

List of townships affected by road suspensions

MORRISON, Ill. -- A message from the Whiteside County Sheriff's office:

"Based on the impending severe weather, some roads in Whiteside County will be impassable.  The Whiteside County Sheriff's Office reminds people to suspend all non-emergency travel plans until this weather system passes and the roads can re-open.  Illinois DOT will continue their operation as best as possible on state routes while Whiteside County Highway will suspend their operations during darkness.  As for township roads, some townships will be out trying to keep up, but others have suspended their operations till the weather system passes."

Below are the townships and the actions intended by Whiteside County.

• Coloma --- Try to keep up on main roadways

• Erie --- Cease at dark

• Fenton --- Cease at dark

• Fulton --- Try to keep up operations

• Hume --- Try to keep up operations
