FULTON, Ill. — At 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, Carol Leavy from Clinton will share her experience decorating the White House in 2012.
Carol is a member of the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers Association and she had been communicating with White House staff hoping they would select these woodcarvers to decorate a tree.
Leavy had decorated a tree during the Clinton administration through the Society of Decorative Painters. Instead of picking the woodcarving group, Leavy was 1 of 100 selected to add her personal decorative touch to the 2012 holiday display. Carol paid her own expenses and stayed in D.C. for 10 days.
The Windmill Cultural Center is easily accessible and the programs are given without charge.
