Fillies one-hit Fulton

MORRISON, Ill. — A double by Jenna Jones was the lone hit for Fulton, and Morrison pitcher Brooke Stralow struck out 10 batters as Morrison shut out Fulton 10-0 in five innings in Three Rivers Conference softball Wednesday.

The Fillies ran their record to 11-1, 3-0 in conference play, as their offense produced eight hits.

Shannon Finneran had two hits and three runs batted in for Morrison, and Rachel Davis added a single, a triple and two RBIs. Jaeden Workman also had a pair of RBIs.

Morrison plays its third game in as many days today, facing Amboy at home.

EP wins on no-hitter

AMBOY, Ill. — Kylie Ackerman threw a six-inning no-hitter and went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Erie/Prophetstown to an 11-0 win against Amboy on Wednesday in the Three Rivers Conference.

Ackerman struck out five batters and walked one batter. The Panthers also committed a pair of errors.

Karlee Doege held the Panthers (12-2, 4-0 conference) scoreless for the first three innings, but her luck ran out after that.

Emily Cox and Ackerman led off the fourth with back-to-back singles. Cox scored on a one-out double by Alicia Stout, and a second run scored on Lakin Miner's groundout.

Erie/Prophetstown added two more runs in the fifth, then broke it open with a seven-run sixth.

Addison Morse reached on an error to open the inning, and Kaeli Kovarik reached after laying down a sacrifice. Stephanie Thulen, who doubled in a run in the fifth, followed with a three-run home run. Morse capped the inning with a bases-clearing double.
