The Fulton City Council met Monday. The following occurred:
• The Council approved the addition of approximately 6.352 acres into the Whiteside Carroll County Enterprise Zone. The city of Mount Carroll requested the territory be added to allow Kunes Country Auto Group to remodel its General Motors facility, as well as construct a new Ford Motor Company structure with a showroom and repair facility.
• The council approved the closure of Fourth Street for the Fulton Christmas Walk on Dec. 6.
• Fulton Police Officer Dave Bartels informed the council that Chief Jim Rhoades is back at the police station on a part-time basis. Bartels served as interim police chief while Rhoades was on leave for a health issue. He said Rhoades is easing back into work, spending three hours a day, five days a week in the station. For the time being, Bartels will continue to represent the police department at council meetings.
