---- — LENA, Ill. — Lena-Winslow got out of jam in the top of the eighth inning, then got a two-run single in the bottom half to beat Fulton 5-4 in non-conference high school softball Thursday.
Whitney Wynkoop tripled in the run that had given the Steamers the 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth with one out. But she was stranded at third base to end the inning.
Jenna Jones had an RBI triple in the first inning for Fulton, and she also scored after doubling with two outs in the seventh to tie the game and force extra innings. Chelsea Lesniewski, who drove in Jones with a single in the first and a double in the seventh, went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Steamers.
MANLIUS, Ill. — Morrison battered Bureau Valley pitching for 31 hits and 32 runs in a Three Rivers Conference doubleheader sweep Thursday.
Brooke Stralow and Lauren Rice had four hits each in the opener, and Shannon Finneran, Allie Wiersema, Jaeden Workman and Rice each drove in three runs in the 21-4 win.
Stralow threw a one-hitter in the nightcap, an 11-0, five-inning win that pushed the Fillies’ record to 20-2. Lauren Pannier backed her on offense with three hits and three RBIs.
