Fulton police rescind parking tickets

FULTON, Ill. — The parking tickets that were issued by Fulton police Saturday during Beggar’s Night at Heritage Canyon have been rescinded.

More than 20 parking tickets were issued during the event after cars began to park in no-parking zones and residential yards.

According to Fulton Police Chief James Rhoades, the police department issued the tickets in an effort to prevent people arriving from perpetuating the parking problem, which would have hampered the ability of emergency vehicles to get through.

“We’re making plans for the future,” Rhoades said. “We need to shuttle people or do something different. That’s a residential area and it was inundated.”
