Residents prep for summer night event

FULTON, Ill. — The fifth annual Fulton Summer Nights event will start June 13 at the Windmill area.

The theme for the June 13 event is “Taste of Fulton.” It will feature food and beverages from many local restaurants and businesses.

Some of the food available at the event will be sandwiches, pizza, tacos, chicken, ice cream, smoothies and more.

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. and will go until 8 p.m., rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved to the River Bend Middle School gymnasium.

Future Summer Nights will be July 11 and August 8. For more information visit the city of Fulton community website.

  • Fulton officials approve unbalanced budget

    Expecting to find ways to either save or generate money to cover a $3,386 shortfall, Fulton city officials on Monday voted to approve the Fiscal Year 2015 budget despite it being unbalanced.

    City Administrator Ed Cannon projected the city will be able to make up that difference in the nearly balanced budget with additional savings or increased revenue, but if not, they will be forced to pay the remainder out of the general reserve fund, a decision some council members did not like.
