    INDEPENDENCE — Central DeWitt took the team district title by four strokes over Vinton-Shellsburg at Three Elms Golf Course in Independence to advance to regional play.

  • Area athletes advance to state track meet
    GOOSE LAKE – Several area athletes advanced to the Iowa Class 1A State Track and Field meet in Des Moines with their performances at the district/regional meet at Goose Lake on Saturday.

    CLINTON — The Clinton River Queens found out on Saturday that Sarah Wenzel would not be their lone participant at the Iowa State Track and Field meet in Des Moines this weekend.

    TIPTON — The Camanche Indians girls track and field team will send five events to the Iowa State Track and Field meet in Des Moines on Thursday through Saturday.

    CLINTON — The Clinton River Kings hosted the boys Mississippi Athletic Conference boys track and field championship on Friday with Pleasant Valley running away with the conference title at Bill Holsclaw Track.

    CLINTON — The Prince of Peace soccer team evened its overall record to 5-5-2 with a 6-2 win over Bellevue Marquette.

  • Indian boys, Trojan girls claim Big East track titles
    GOOSE LAKE – Camanche boys track and field coach Mark Metzger was mobbed by his team members as it was announced that the Indians had taken the 2008 Big East Conference Championship and Metzger was named the conference coach of the year.

  • Irish boys win Big East golf title
    CALAMUS — The Prince of Peace boys golf team claimed the Big East Conference title with a narrow three stroke win over Camanche at Calamus’s Wapsi Oaks Golf Course.

  • Queens advance eight entries to conference finals
    ELDRIDGE — The Clinton River Queens advanced to the finals in eight of nine brackets in first day action of the Mississippi Athletic Conference girls tennis tournament.
