Central DeWitt girls claim district golf championship

INDEPENDENCE — Central DeWitt took the team district title by four strokes over Vinton-Shellsburg at Three Elms Golf Course in Independence to advance to regional play.

Whitney Emerson led the Sabers with a score of 92, one stroke off of medalist Laura Willberg of Vinton-Shellsburg.

Meghan Tendall and Val Anderson tallied scores of 99 and 100 respectively to advance to regionals. Ellie Williams rounded out the Central scoring with a round of 105.
