Orion beats Fulton in regional volleyball final

FULTON — Orion won the decisive third game to beat Fulton 25-15, 22-25, 25-15 on Saturday to win the title of the Class 1A Fulton Regional volleyball tournament.

Liz Sanquist had nine kills to lead Fulton, which closed the season with a 25-13 record. Lydia Schaver finished with 14 assists, Kim Rogis had 18 digs and Allison DeWeerdt had seven serving points. Megan Blumenshein led Orion with 12 kills.

The top-seeded Chargers advance to the Lanark Eastland Sectional, where they will take on Orangeville in the semifinals.
