Bowling: Clinton sweeps Davenport Central

CLINTON — Clinton High swept Davenport Central in high school bowling Saturday at Plaza Bowl.

Tyler Schutte rolled games of 211 and 262 to lead all boys individuals with a 473 as the River Kings won the boys varsity match 3,129-2,789. Devon Everson was even better for the junior varsity, with a 275-213—488, and Michael Kremer was almost as good with a 229-236—465 in a 2,913-1,854 win.

Alexis Halcomb led the Clinton girls with games of 235 and 190 in a 2,525-1,969 victory. Central didn’t have a complete JV team.

“The boys teams continue to score real high, and the girls are improving each meet,” Clinton coach Mark Richardson said.
