Bowling roundup: Sabers, Cardinals split

DEWITT — Central DeWitt and Maquoketa split in high school bowling Friday at DeWitt Lanes.

The Sabers won the girls match 2,666-2,175, but Maquoketa won the boys contest 2,817-2,579.

Shelby Carrier led DeWitt to the girls win. She rolled games of 256 and 237 for a 493-pin total, the best two-game series of any bowler on the day.

Dalton Waugh led the Cardinals in the boys match with a 214-249—463 individual series.

Indians, Comets Split

BELLEVUE — Bellevue won a high-scoring battle in the boys match, and Camanche won the girls portion as the schools split a bowling meet Thursday at Horizon Lanes.

Riley Till shot games of 289 and 268 for a 557 series to lead the Comets boys team to a 3,140-3078 win. Teammate Austin Michels had the second-best score, a 492. The Comets recorded a 2,211 in individual play, but Camanche narrowed the gap by outscoring the Comets 1,062-929 in the Baker rounds.

Alison Seibel of Camanche led all girls with a 401-pin total. She had games of 197 and 204 as Camanche beat Bellevue 2,749-2,143.
