Mustangs win with season low

ERIE, Ill. — All four Morrison scorers shot 40 or better Wednesday afternoon as the Mustangs shot a season-low 157 to win a Three Rivers Conference boys golf triangular at Lake Erie Country Club.

Host Erie was second with a 190, while Prophetstown took third with a 206.

The Mustangs shot the four lowest rounds, led by medalist Colton Smith’s 2-over-par 38. He made eight pars, with his only hiccup being a double bogey on the par-3 eighth hole.

Ben Tegeler followed with a 38 that included back-to-back birdies on Nos. 3 and 4, both par 5s. Brock Smith eagled No. 3 and finished with a 40, while Noah Hogue also shot a 40 that included birdies on Nos. 4 and 8.

Thunder take 3rd

MILAN, Ill. — Dalton Love claimed medalist honors with a 40 on Tuesday and led Rock Island Alleman to a triangular win in boys golf at Indian Bluff Golf Course.

Alleman finished with a 170-stroke total, followed by Riverdale (175) and West Carroll (197).

Sean Keckler made four pars and Cameron Ehlers had three as each shot a 46 to tie for West Carroll honors. Matt Ritchie was next with a 52, Anthony Mendoza had a 53, Hayley Guilinger a 55 and Keegan Randecker a 62.

Prophets girls 3rd

ALEDO, Ill. — Mid-County shot a 227 to beat host Mercer County (243) and Prophetstown (262) in a girls golf triangular Wednesday at Hawthorn Ridge Golf Course.

Catherine Cooney led the Prophets with a 59 that included a par-3 on No. 13.
