WAPELLO — Rylee Dickey hit a homerun in the second inning for Northeast, as the Rebels stomped Wapello 11-2 on Wednesday.
Dickey’s homer came on a 2-0 count that she lifted to left center field.
That wasn’t the only run that the Rebels scored early. In fact, Northeast opened with three runs in the first inning that included a two-run single from Kelsey Carder. Dickey led off the game with a double.
Northeast then scored four runs in the second inning, two in the fifth thanks to another RBI hit from Carder, then Addie Oberman drove in the final run in the seventh. That inning started with a Carder double.
Bailey Claussen pitched for Northeast — allowing the two runs on 79 pitches that included five strikeouts and no walks. She allowed five hits.
Easton Valley splits
PRESTON — Lizzie Meier had two hits for Easton Valley in Game 1, which Calamus-Wheatland won 8-5.
Calamus-Wheatland opened up by scoring in the first inning, but Easton Valley re-took the lead 2-1 in the fourth inning.
In the seventh inning, Cal-Wheat scored five runs in the seventh to put the River Hawks away.
