Girls swimming: Queens drop season debut

DUBUQUE — Molly Lembezeder broke a pair of city-wide records Tuesday and led Dubuque Senior past Clinton 177-36 in the season-opening meet of the high school girls swimming season.

Lembezeder broke a pair of Dubuque marks held by Wahlert swimmers as she won the the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 58.96 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.98. Senior swimmers won all 12 events.

Clinton was led by an individual runner-up finish from Nikki Erling in the 200 individual medley in 2:35.26 and a second-place finish from Erling, Sadie Nickles, Maddie Marlowe and Becca Hess in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:55.90 and the 200 medley relay in 2:14.93.
