Unity Christian gets past Morningstar

FULTON, Ill. — Unity Christian defeated Morningstar Academy 25-19, 25-16 in high school volleyball Thursday.

JoLynn Frederick, one of the seniors, led the Knights with two kills, while the another senior, Jaime Kammerer led the way with four ace serves.

Fulton tumbles

PORT BYRON, Ill. — Riverdale defeated Fulton 25-22, 25-18 on Thursday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball.

Betsy Leonard and Chelsea Lesniewski each had eight kills to lead the Steamers (1-3, 1-3 conference). Olivia Edfors, who led Fulton with 14 assists, seven serving points and two aces. Averi Leitzen served five points.

Erie rallies for win

MANLIUS, Ill. — Erie dropped the first game 25-21 but rebounded to record 25-23 and 25-17 wins to beat host Bureau Valley in Three Rivers Conference play.

Savannah Mettler led the Cardinals with 11 kills, while Courtney Cobert had team highs with 15 digs and two aces.

Comets prevail

PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Sterling Newman swept Prophetstown 25-14, 25-19 in Three Rivers Conference action.

Claire Milnes led the Prophets (2-4, 1-1 conference) with three kills.
