Bowling: Clinton splits with Muscatine

CLINTON — Clinton split its season-opening bowling match against Muscatine on Saturday at Plaza Bowl, winning the boys match 2,972-2,897 but dropping the girls contest 2,917-2,456.

Tim Dawson led the River Kings, rolling the highest two-game series in the match with games of 236 and 249.

Muscatine’s Kaitlyn Anderson had the highest individual score in the girls competition with games of 186 and 226 for a 412 total. Cheyenne Brashaw led Clinton with a 128-243—371.

Clinton’s boys won their junior varsity meet 2,918-2,125, led by a 204-241—445 by John Stolts. Sydney Wohlstadter rolled a 154-78—232 to lead the River Queens junior varsity, which lost 2,464-1,619.
