CLINTON — Chalk up another postponed game because of the weather for the Camanche Indians.
Severe thunderstorms that were seen on the forecast before the game forced the doubleheader match-up between Camanche and Marquette Catholic to be postponed, with hopes of making it up this afternoon, depending again on the weather.
Rain washed out most, if not all, of the area schedule, with the North Scott at Clinton softball game among those postponed. No makeup date has been set yet.
Northeast and Calamuss-Wheatland also are hoping to make up their rained-out baseball and softball games tonight.
Thursday’s doubleheader was the third postponed date this season out of five on the schedule for Camanche. The Indians opened their season with a 7-1 loss to Central DeWitt on May 22, followed by last Saturday’s Clinton Tournament, which was postponed until the weekend of June 15, and this past Tuesday’s game against Durant-Bennett that was also postponed. The Indians were able to squeeze in their scheduled game on Wednesday against Wapello but fell in that game 3-1.
The next scheduled game for the Indians is Monday when they travel to Northeast for a doubleheader at 5 p.m.
