Students injured when school bus, car collide

BETTENDORF — The Bettendorf schools superintendent says the 13 students taken to hospitals after their bus collided with a car have been released.

Superintendent Theron Schutte said that none of the children suffered serious injuries in Monday afternoon's accident. It was unclear whether the two people in the car have been released.

The crash happened Monday afternoon and that 13 Bettendorf Middle School students and two people in the car were taken to hospitals.

There were about 30 students on the bus.

Bettendorf police, firefighters and medics responded to the crash.
