DAVENPORT — Davenport is seeking $17.5 million from the state for a $71.5 million project in a redevelopment area that would include a hotel, waterpark and performance venue adjacent to a planned casino.
The Quad-City Times reports the City Council is scheduled to vote on the application at a Wednesday night meeting. Officials are expected to submit it to the state by a Friday deadline.
Redevelopment in the area along Interstate 80 and 74 will also include mixed commercial and residential development. The total price tag is $250 million.
Iowa's reinvestment district program has $100 million available for cities and counties in the state that meet certain requirements in their development projects.
