Improving to 6-2 overall, the Barre Miners swept a doubleheader from Cal-Mum by scores of 3-2 and 13-0 Saturday at Barre Town Park.
Barre scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Nick Gregori and a fielders choice play off the bat of Pete Nesbitt, to win the opener.
A double by Jake Lester and two walks loaded the bases to set up the opportunity.
The Miners other run came in the sixth inning as Travis Downs tripled and came home on a single by Steve Holler.
Nate Lester picked up the win on the mound in relief.
Game two saw Jake Lester hurl a no hitter with five strikeouts in the five inning mercy rule contest.
Holler, Matt Monacelli, Seth Narburgh and Devin Erdle each had two hits in that contest for the Miners which scored three quick runs in the first inning on walks and later plated five in the fifth.
Barre visits Greece tonight and Rush-Henrietta Thursday. The Miners then host a July 4th weekend tournament on Friday and Saturday with LeRoy, Batavia and Oakfield in the field.
