Baseball/Softball
• MEDAILLE SPRING TRAINING: Medaille College will host a six-week spring training for players from grades one through 12 from Jan. 18 to Feb. 22. The camp will be hosted by Medaille coach Paul Smaldone in conjunction with Midwest Baseball Academy. Call 880-2177 for more information.
• CAYUGA GAMBLERS 12U: The Cayuga Gamblers 12U Softball team has openings for the 2009 season. Players must have been born in the year 1996 or 1997. The team practices year-round indoors and out to get ready for summer travel league and tournaments and participates in practices, clinics, trainings, and lessons. • CYAA ADULTS WANTED: The Cayuga Youth Athletic Association is looking for parent or guardians who have had a child that played baseball or softball to accept the positions of baseball commissioner, equipment manager, uniform manager, or umpire-in-chief. Call 283-7354 for more info.
• 12-U PITCHER WANTED: The Wheatfield Lady Hurricanes 12-under travel softball team is looking for a pitcher for next season. Interested parties must not turn 13 before Jan. 1, and should contact Debbie Karr at 731-3942.
• COACHES CLINIC: Homerun Softball will be holding a Coaches Clinic at the Ramada Amherst Hotel Jan. 16-17. Olympic player Jessica Mendoza will be on hand Jan. 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to present “Better Athletes Better People.” Mendoza will sign autographs and display Silver and Gold Medals.
Basketball
• LASALLE SENIOR BASKETBALL: The LaSalle Senior Facility at 95th and Colvin will start senior basketball for those interested between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Participants must be 20 years old. There is no cost. For more info, call 284-5092.
Cheerleading
• GET FIT CHEER CAMP: The Get Fit Cheer Camp will be held at the Niagara Falls Wrestling Club starting in January. The camp is for kids ages 4 to 13 and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Registration for the event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the club, 2402 Niagara St., Niagara Falls. For more information, call 940-3618
Soccer
• NIAGARA PAL: Teams are forming for winter and summer leagues. Spots are available for boys and girls that will be at between the ages of 8 and 19 on July 31. Register at Niagara-Soccer.com. Winter league begins Jan. 1.
• NIAGARA PAL 14 BOYS: Niagara PAL is forming a 14-year-old boys team to play at Sportsplex in January. Games will be played on Saturdays. Call 283-7715 for more info.
• TOP LEVEL PROGRAMS: Top Level Soccer in Tonawanda is accepting registrations for its instructional indoor soccer programs. Teams are forming in several different age groups. For more information, contact Dan Dolan at 418-2162 or visit TopLevelSoccer.com.
• KENAN CENTER SOCCER LEAGUE: Now accepting registrations for the winter soccer session. Program is open to boys and girls age 4-18 and the deadline is Nov. 29. Swimming
• NIAGARA UNIVERSITY: The Niagara University Recreation Department instructional swim lessons will be conducted on Wednesdays beginning on Jan. 28. Instructional classes will also be conducted on Saturdays beginning on Jan. 24 Each class consists of 35-40 minutes of instruction based on American Red Cross guidelines, including a 5-10 minute free swim. A parent/child program for infants (under 3 years) is also offered. Cost for the program is $60 for a five-week session. For more information, call 286-8055.
Wrestling
• POWERCATS CLUB: The Niagara Falls Powercats are accepting registrations for classes at their facility on 2402 Niagara Street. Classes run from 6 to 8 p.m on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Experienced wrestlers will start today. The program is open to boys and girls age 4 to 18. Wrestlers should bring a copy of his or her birth certificate. • PAL NBA WRESTLING: The PAL NBA Wrestling club will start practices Tuesday, and all wrestlers ages 6 to 12 are welcome to attend. The club practice at Harry F. Abate Elementary School, 1625 Lockport St., Niagara Falls. Practices will be held each week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. For more info, call 799-2375.
