Marian M. Enright

DAVENPORT — Marian M. Enright, 92, a resident of Davenport and formerly of both Erie and Fulton, Illinois, died Friday, October 30, 2009, at Crest Health Care, Davenport. She died peacefully following a brief illness.

Following her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A private memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Fulton, Illinois.

Marian Margaret Plunkett was born July 20, 1917, in Clinton, Iowa, a daughter of Philip G. and Mae (Gainey) Plunkett. She graduated from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Enright on May 21, 1938, in Fulton. He preceded her in death October 7, 1999. Marian and Tom farmed in the Erie area before retiring to Fulton, Illinois.

Marian cherished time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed evenings out dining and socializing with those she loved. She enjoyed playing Bridge and golf. Marian and Tom were members of the Fulton Country Club.

Memorials are suggested to the Handicapped Development Center, 3402 Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, Iowa 52806.

Survivors include children and their spouses, Pat and Tom Sewart, Mequon, Wisconsin, William and Sandy Enright, Scottsdale, Arizona, Jim and Karen Enright, Bettendorf, and Stephen and Donna Enright, Port Byron Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at Ridgecrest and Dr. Ann O’Donnell for the care and kindness they showed Marian.
