Darwin Gene Hass

DEWITT — Darwin Gene Hass, 49, DeWitt, died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

On May 26, 1960, he was born in Morrison, Illinois, to Harlan and Ruby (Buxton) Hass. Dar graduated from DeWitt Community High School. He was a dedicated worker, enjoying his work at Tires-N-More, DeWitt. Darwin was well respected by the farming community. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping, his family and friends.

Surviving are his mother, Ruby (Dennis) Speers, DeWitt; sisters, Laura (Matt) Rose, Clinton, Brenda (Steve) Reistroffer, Welton; his brother, Edwin (Karla) Hass, DeWitt; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in Elvira Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ray Garrity, Gerry Wulf, Todd Claeys, Craig Kaszinski, Brian Elias and Steve Scheckel.
