Mary I. Young

CLINTON — Mary I. Young, 75, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, in her home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Father Thom Hennen will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL, at a later date. Memorials can be made to the family.

Mary was born July 8, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Schimes) Brown. Mary married Robert Young September 28, 1968, in Chicago.

Mary worked for McCormick Hotel in Chicago, office work; manager of Dollar General; and kitchen manager for Generations. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, she enjoyed the Casino, playing games on the computer and spending time with her family.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Margie Mitchell of Clinton, Sharon Casteel of Hometown, IL, Theresa Kapugi of Darien, IL, Kym (Len) Caputo of Manhattan, IL; 3 sons, Mike Hartney of Clinton, Robert (Maureen) Young of Hometown, IL, Thomas Young, CFD, of Chicago, IL; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert (Fran) Brown of Hickory Hills, IL, Tom (Carla) Brown of De Ridder, LA; 1 sister, Theresa (Don) Bradel of Bemidji, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, 1 son and 1 grandson.
