Lots of what ifs for the future of Clinton

What if…
1. We could get all registered voters to get involved and informed, how would things change?
2. We could get a petition going that said the city administration was on a “Pay As You Go” budget without benefit of the ability to raise any taxes?
3. We could get these same voters to vote to cancel the staggered terms for the council persons so we could clean house if we wanted without left over stragglers from the previous regime?
4. These informed and concerned voters decided that we had to have an ethics committee and so voted in a referendum?
5. We could get a handle on these TIFs and tax abatements, and keep them to a minimum before they cripple the ability of our children to afford to live in this town?
6. If these same voters realized that we are about “bonded” to our limit and need to stop and look at where the money is coming from and pass a referendum that all bonds go through a vote of the tax payers?
There are a lot others but maybe the rest of the readers can think them up and list them.
