On Nov. 4 we welcomed home several of our local Naval troops back from Iraq. They were escorted into town on their way to the Moose Lodge by the Patriot Guard. It was a wonderful sight and a great homecoming.
I was expecting to see a terrific write up about it with several pictures on the front page of Monday’s Clinton Herald. Instead there were pictures of boys in drag and a co-manager of Wal-Mart.
While I applaud all the effort the kids are putting into the Student Hunger Drive and I am sure Mr. Purcell is very good at his job, shame on you, editors of the Clinton Herald for not giving this homecoming any more than one little picture and paragraph on page 9A, no less. These brave men and women deserve so much more than that.
