We recently realized that before we moved to Kansas, we forgot to say “Thank You” to many deserving people in the Clinton, Camanche and Fulton, Ill., region.
At the risk of forgetting a specific person, we want to let several groups of people know that they touched our lives during our time living and working in Clinton.
I want to specifically thank the current and past staff at the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Clinton Regional Development Corp. for their hard work and their efforts on behalf of the region. Thank you to the countless volunteers and people I was privileged to work with during my time in Clinton.
We want to especially recognize the gifted and special people at the Ashford University preschool and at Whittier Elementary School for the exceptional way that they treated our boys and helped in their growth and development.
Most of all, we miss the many families and friends that attend Clinton Evangelical Free Church. Moving away from our church friends, and other special friends in the region, is the hardest part of being away from Clinton. Thank you for adopting us with love when we moved to Clinton in 1999.
Finally, I want to thank all the people in the community who sent cards, e-mails and phone calls when they heard that my mother died suddenly two weeks ago, days after we arrived here. One of the reasons we moved to Kansas was to be closer to our families. The messages of love and sympathy have been helpful to us and my father during this time.
Thank you and we look forward to visiting Clinton this summer!
