West Carroll FFA Ag Mechanics Team Wins Section #1 Contest

SAVANNA, Ill. — The West Carroll FFA Ag Mechanics team won the Section No. 1 Ag Mechanics Contest on March 10 at West Carroll High School. The West Carroll team score was 425.5. Eastland placed second with 377.5.

Individually for the West Carroll varsity team, Ashley Hunt placed first in surveying; Cassidy Rice fifth in electricity; Glenn Hoffman second in welding, John Zubaty second in power, and Jacob Carey second in carpentry. West Carroll also had four JV members participating. Aryelle Rabuck placed third in carpentry, James Reeves third in power, Tanner Storjohann third in electricity, and Shawna Lott third in welding.

An Ag Mechanics CDE consists of taking a written test and then doing a hands-on practical in each of the five mechanics areas.
