Contest draws attention to healthy living

CLINTON — "Let's live healthy, Clinton!" is a new campaign slogan created to motivate the city of Clinton and surrounding areas to get up, get out and get active.

Driven by Mercy Medical Center and Genesis Health Systems, the "Let's Live Healthy, Clinton!" campaign has all the makings to be a strong vision for the community, but with one small detail still needed to fulfill that goal — a logo.

So, to generate some publicity for the program and to get local residents involved, a contest has called upon local artists to create the logo that will stand for the mission the "Let's Live Healthy" team has envisioned.

All entries in the logo contest will require four specific criteria. Each must include the "Let's Live Healthy, Clinton!" slogan; be 150 by 150 pixels in PDF format; submitted in both black and white and color and cannot exceed three different colors.

Also, the use of any copyrighted material such as the city of Clinton's paddlewheel emblem, will not be allowed.

Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday and must be sent as an attachment to LLHClinton@gmail.com.

Once all entries are collected, the Let's Live Healthy, Clinton panel will decide on the top logo creations and place them on its Facebook page for open, community voting on Dec. 16.

Voting will be open until 5 p.m. Jan. 5, and then a winner will be chosen and awarded $100 in River City Gold.

Second- and third-place prizes will also be awarded with second taking home $50 in River City Gold and third receiving $25.

For additional information about the contest or to enter for a chance to win, contact Andrea Barnett at 563-244-5801 or Michele Cullen at 242-7165.
