Camanche Days registrations sought for Little Cuties, prince and princesses, others

CAMANCHE — Camanche Days is approaching and officials are seeking registrations for several entities.

The festival will be held from Aug. 7 to 10 in Camanche. This year’s theme is Hats Off to Camanche. The grand marshal will be Brenda Larkey. The Camanche Days officers for this year are Brenda Larkey, president; David Maze Jr., first vice president; Ron Johnston, second vice president; Chris Langfitt, third vice president; Debbie Holstein, secretary; Carla Zavala, treasurer.

The Camanche Days Teen board officers are Ethan Sharp, chairman; Brandon Henson and Johnathan Molin, vice chairmen; Kalley Stolts, secretary; Makenzie Ciner, treasurer.

Little Cuties

Contestants are being sought for the Little Cuties contest. Children should be ages 0 to 5 by Aug. 6. Participants must either be a Camanche resident or at least one parent must have attended Camanche High School. Rules and cartons will be given out at upcoming meetings at 6 p.m. at Platt Park on July 14 and 16. Entry forms will be available at meetings, Camanche Kwik Star and Clinton National Bank in Camanche.

Participants should include a current photo of the child with entry form. Deadline to enter is July 18.

Little Prince, Princess

Students 6 to 10 years old and a Camanche resident or student in the Camanche School District are eligible. Entry forms are available at the meetings stated above, Camanche Kwik Star and Clinton National Bank in Camanche. Photos of the child must accompany entry forms. Criteria for the Camanche Days Litlle Prince and Princess are one-third — penny a vote canisters, one-third — stage presentation, and one-third — interview question. Deadline to enter is July 18.

King and Queen

Nomination letters are for king and queen are required and must be received by July 28. Once received, the Camanche Days adult and Teen Board and event directors will vote and choose the 2014 winners.

The nomination letters can be sent to Camanche Days King and Queen, PO Box 123, Camanche, IA 52730 ATTN: Brenda. Nominees must be 60 or older and reside in the Camanche School District.
