West Carroll FFA hosts barnyard zoo

SAVANNA, Ill. — The West Carroll FFA Chapter hosted its annual barnyard zoo at the West Carroll Elementary School last week.

Elementary school students were able to see and pet a variety of farm animals. They also had the opportunity to learn from the FFA members about all the animals.

The FFA members who brought animals were Bailey Durward who brought her dairy cow; Joshua Sullivan, tractor; Karley Metz and Shawna Lott, ducks; Rachel Dykstra, chickens and a rabbit; Tessa Sibley and Breanna Brashaw, horses; Cassey Johnson, pigeons; Chloe Carson, miniature donkeys; Brianna Kampmeier, lambs; Rachel Badtke and Anna Badtke, guinea pig and chickens; Natalie Shaw, goats; Hallie Mobley, chickens; Dylan Williams, tractor; Clare O’Connor, pig; Cassidy Rice, chickens; Jacob Dauphin, cow; Daniel Hartman, quail; Elizabeth Rath, goats; Luke Jones, horse; Alysha Adams, pot belly pig; Jon Dyson, tractor and chickens; Jacob Armstrong, tractor; Devin Wilkinson, calf; Mike Behrens, tractor; and Kevin Atherton, alpaca.

Brandon Colgan brought his pig, Rick, for the ninth year in a row. Also, the guides that led the kids around were Morgan McCombie, Demi Hess, Lindsay Dauphin, Brandon Anderson, Tom Watson, Cassidy Meinsma, Kelbi Schneider and Bub Carey.
