CLINTON — A Clinton company participated in a Global Care Day this past weekend.
LyondellBasell employees and families on Saturday provided landscaping, painting and cleanup at the YWCA and Victory Center as part of the company’s Global Care Day.
The event encourages LyondellBasell employees around the world to collectively participate in community service projects on the same day.
YWCA Maintenance Director Trevor Lampe said Global Care Day has provided a great impact for the organization.
“LyondellBasell does a great job of delivering on the wants, needs and expectations for this type of project,” Lampe said. “The effort of their volunteers has saved me days of work for only a few hours of their time.”
Over the past 15 years, approximately 25,900 LyondellBasell employees and their families have donated more than 162,800 volunteer hours supporting their communities on Global Care Day.
LyondellBassell Clinton Complex Environmental Technician Wes Farrell said Global Care Day allows the company to show it cares for the community.
“Hopefully we can serve as a reminder that these organizations live off volunteers and donations and can really use the help,” Farrell said.
LyondellBasell’s Clinton complex is one of the largest chemical plants in Iowa.
